The Litmus Team’s Favorite Emails for December 2023 – Litmus

Welcome back to our monthly series where we dive into the best email campaigns that hit our inboxes in December (aka the second busiest month of the year for engagement!).

What stood out? Playful animations, clever campaigns, and thoughtful timing were top of our list. Keep reading for our handpicked selection, or skip ahead to discover what caught our eye!

Ruggable

Subject line: You have a new message

Carin Slater (Email and Content Growth Marketing Manager) says: What stood out to me about this Ruggable email? All of it! I love the fun play on the “you have a new message” and the message bubble format. The shifting animated GIF behind showing off the rugs is wonderful, too.

Pair Eyewear

Subject line: 7 Days of Pair: Day ONE

Angie Weyman (Product Marketing Manager) says: Pair Eyewear wearers (like me) love how our glasses can switch out top frame for a new look. Pair is amazing at releasing new top frames regularly, but for the holidays they had a “7 Days of Pair” campaign, releasing a new top frame each day. This email campaign for day one has a captivating GIF image (oooh what’s it going to be?) and if that wasn’t enough, there are a few simple clues to further entice subscribers to find out what the special release is.

The rest of the email has clear expectations for when and what to expect for the campaign (great imagery for almost counting down each day), specific dates for ordering (always helpful this time of year), and very clean email footer call outs for SMS and referral programs.

Grammarly

Subject line: You should be proud of last week’s success.

Logan Sandrock Baird (Senior Community Evangelist) says: Grammarly does a great job of offering up personalized data in a way that makes you feel accomplished. Unless writing is your main responsibility, you may not be aware of how much you write in a week, but writing constitutes effort like any other labor. It’s validating to see it represented.

The layout is clean—with plenty of negative space for easy comprehension—the articles are helpful and the “Get More from Grammarly” section is a clever way of presenting data on which features you’ve opted in to.

Girlfriend Collective

Subject line: FOUND IT

Kimberly Huang (Content Marketing Manager) says: At first, I was worried that Girlfriend Collective tried to use a misleading subject line to grab my attention! But it all made sense once I opened up the email and saw the playful animated GIF in the hero section (clever!). I also appreciate how short, succinct, and direct the email is.

See you next year!

That’s a wrap on our monthly round-up of favorite emails! We hope you enjoyed perusing our collection from December 2023. We’ll be back in the new year with our picks!
